About lil’ ol’ me…

The Basics:

I’ve been working at this whole art shtick thang since I graduated from the Pacific NW College of Art in Portland, Oregon, oh, about a hundred years ago in 1991. Freelance illustration mostly, with lots of sketchbook work in between gigs, and finally decided to make the plunge and try to create an illustrated children’s book, which finally coalesced with the publication of LETTERS OF THE WEST, by Craigmore Creations in 2013.

Influences over the years have included the usual gang of Old School Masters like Albrecht Dürer, Gustave Doré, and Francisco Goya, on into 20th Century artists such as Franklin Boothe, N.C. Wyeth, the whole crowd of Art Nouveau illustrators (Alphonse Mucha, Erté, etc…), and modern day woodcut and scratch board geniuses Barry Moser, Mark Summers, Douglas Smith, and Scott McKowen.
